Have you friends-of-nonprofits heard of changetheworld.org???
Seriously, spread the word about this company, it’s so awesome. What they do is connect nonprofits that need technical help with university students who need real-world projects.
In 2014, FCCBikeworks submitted a profile and a request through changetheworld.org for help with writing a business pitch & prospectus, and we got partnered with students from the University of Maryland Robert H Smith School of Business: a team of 5 smarties with 5 different concentrations, all working to help a little community shop in KY. John & Bella met with the team via google hangouts weekly, tried to give them the info they asked for, and connected them with some of our volunteers for additional perspectives & info. It was totally incredible to take stock of how much has happened through pure volunteer power in less than a year.
And…..drumroll…the results are in and they are good!!! We are so pleased to present our business pitch and prospectus! (Ooh feels so official!)
