FCCB was thrilled to work with Broke Down Bike Club, Hilltop Tavern, and New Belgium Brewing Company to staff a community tent in front of Hilltop Tavern for Cyclouvia 2015 on Frankfort Avenue on Sunday, April 19, 2015.
Cyclouvia covered by Louisville Courier-Journal:
BDBC President Matthew Glaser rallied his Broke Down riders to the event in spite of intermittent heavy rain throughout afternoon. Meanwhile, FCCB set up a bike repair station and aided cyclists with basic repair and maintenance tasks. BDBC and FCCB also teamed up to refurbish three bicycles which were raffled off to Cyclouvia participants at a price of $1/chance. The raffle proceeds went to both FCCB and Broke Down Bike Club.

Hilltop Tavern owners Erika and Mike Skelton opened their doors early for Cyclouvia and kept everyone happy with a variety of New Belgium beers on tap. FCCB and BDBC thank Hilltop and New Belgium Brewing Co. for contributing $1 to FCCB/BDBC for every New Belgium beer sold during Cyclouvia!
Money Drop Ride
A few days after Cyclouvia, Broke Down Bike Club organized a group ride to drop off the proceeds from the Cyclouvia fundraiser at the FCCB lair on Logan St. The weather was much better for this event, which attracted quite a few riders, and introduced some new folks to the FCCB concept and workshop space.

Falls City Community Bikeworks is very thankful to have such enthusiastic allies in the Louisville community. Please keep supporting FCCB, but also check out our friends:
- Broke Down Bike Club – (BDBC) casual, non-competitive bike rides to make friends and get in shape, rides 2-3 times a week, usually in the evening
- Hilltop Tavern – FCCB and BDBC’s neighborhood bar! Great food, great friends, and a huge beer list. Hilltop Tavern is home base for most Broke Down rides, at the corner of Pope St. and Frankfort Ave in the Clifton neighborhood.
- New Belgium Brewing Co. – new to Kentucky, New Belgium beers are enjoyed by brew lovers across the country. They are a strong supporter of cycling and renewable energy/sustainability initiatives.
